What creates the neon effect?
Unlike glow sticks, which use a mixture of chemicals to produce light, our products use an electrical reaction. The wire we use consists of two circuits separated by a thin flourescent material. When current of a certain voltage and frequency is applied, the material gives off light. Not surprisingly, this is called electroluminescent wire - or EL wire. The power is supplied by a small battery pack - the size of which depends on how much wire you are using -- the battery pack that powers our necklaces is slightly larger than a quarter, while the pack used for most jackets is closer to a pack of cigarettes.

What colors are available?
Our products can be customized with the following colors: blue-green, lime-green, blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, white, red, or purple. The blue green and lime green colors are the brightest, while the red and purples are slightly dimmer than the others. Samples of the colors can be viewed here.

How long will the glow effect last?
The effect will last as long as the batteries do. In most cases, one set of batteries will last 12-14 hours, dimming slightly as the battery runs low. The wire itself has a useful lifespan of several thousand hours.

How durable are these products?
Our testing has shown these products to be remarkably durable. However, they are electronic devices and care should be taken in how they are handled and stored. The wire itself does not respond well to being crimped or bent, and should not be washed or immersed in water. If your product stops working, contact us for additional information -- depending on the age and condition of the product we can likely repair it for a minimal fee.

Do you offer discount prices for large orders?
Wholesale pricing and discounts for large orders are available. E-mail us with information on which products, and what kind of quantity, you are interested in.

Do you ship to other countries? What about express shipping?
Shipping to other countries and express shipping is available upon request. If you need a product right away, and would like express shipping, we are happy to help you out -- however it requires that you contact us before placing your order so that we can let you know whether we can meet your deadline, and how much additional shipping costs are. (we never charge handling).

What forms of payment do you accept?
At this time we accept credit card and money transfers through paypal. You do not need a paypal account to make credit card payments. If you are unable to use paypal, you may contact us and we may be able to make other arrangements for you.

What's up with your prices?
All of our products are handmade in the USA by experienced artists using the highest quality materials available. We can not compete with low-cost items mass produced in China - so we don't try to. You will notice that we don't nickel and dime our customers. For example, we offer free shipping on all orders; all electronic products include free extra batteries; poi handle come with free quick links; and we often toss additional "extras" in with each order.
